Religion vs. Christianity
1. Religion is the worst thing in
the world. Note Christ in action in Matthew 23.
2. Christianity is the best thing in
the world — Jude 24.
3. Religion is man seeking to gain
the approval of God by human works, either:
a) Phase one: For
salvation, or
b) Phase two: For
spirituality.
4. Christianity is God doing
something for man through His grace, and God getting the glory, both at:
a) Phase one: For
salvation, or
b) Phase two: For
spirituality.
5. “Do-goodism” is the basis
for religion: Romans 2; Matthew 23. Religion is not the basis for Christianity
— Titus 3:5.
6. Religion is the greatest
opposition to the truth (the antithesis). It is ritual without reality. (See
any passage dealing with the Pharisees)
7. Religion is the Satanic
counterfeit of true relationship with God. Isaiah 14; 2 Thessalonians;
Revelation 13.
8. Nothing Satan has ever devised
has been so successful as religion in blinding men’s eyes to the truth.
9. Any system of religion which is man-centered
(man seeking to solve man’s problems by man’s efforts) is Satanic in nature and
basically becomes a worship of Satan, as Satan is the author of “do-goodism."
10. The old sin nature has an area
of human good which cranks out this “do-goodism", this sincere human good.
This human good ultimately worships Satan, as does all religion.
11. Religion appeals to the lust
pattern of the old sin nature (Approbation or ego lust) or the emotions.
(Desire to get into the glamour of the ritual)
12. Religion is often the great
killer, the great persecutor; destroyer of human freedom as well as human
bodies.
13. Christianity recognises the
freedom of the individual and this freedom cannot exist unless there is
separation of church and state.
14. Religion is money-minded
(pledges, duns, etc.) Also religion is used to develop businesses of some
people within a religious organisation and to freeze out others.
15. Religion purports to be a mass
solution. Christianity IS a personal solution.
